Hunters Hill Rooftop

Hunters Hill Rooftop

Vision
To provide a biophilic outlook from the primary bedroom that is low lying with colourful coverage that doesn’t impede the view.
How we helped
Starr Landscapes engaged us to supply our Eco Pillows for a beautiful property that overlooks Hunters Hill’s waterways. Working together we devised a plan to install Eco Pillows strategically across the 160m² rooftop. Eco Pillows were strategically placed over the rooftops to create the outlook of a completely covered roof while still allowing access between the rows of pillows installed. Further planting and inclusion of Green Gabions on the roofs top have added height and layers to the rooftop.

Alexandria Oasis

Alexandria Oasis

Vision
The greenroofs at this inner-city terrace home were part of a complete renovation of the entire property. The owners wanted to create a natural lookout from the skylight and much visible greenspace from every outlook within the limited space available.
How we helped
To ensure there was greenery visible from the living and master bedroom spaces we installed Eco Pillows on the lower roof space and also on the adjacent garage and pool area. By doing this it created a larger feeling space that also lifted the eye level complemented by a lush greenwall that pulls nature into the bifold doors. The planting palette was selected to offer coverage as well as aesthetic outlooks from the balcony to the rooftop, from the ground looking up and seeing plants cascading down and looking through the skylight you can still see nature. The greenroofs are maintained on a quarterly week basis.

Roseville Green Outlook

Roseville Green Outlook

Vision
Provide a vibrant lush outlook for the kitchen window that bring nature into an already stunning natural biophilic extension of an existing heritage house.
How we helped
Fixed to the fence is a 4 metre long strip greenwall designed for low light conditions of the walkway. An irrigation looks after the little amount of water needed for these shade loving plants while our client gets to sit back and enjoy the view or should we say, stand up, chop, prepare, eat and enjoy the view.
The result
Complimenting Sheila O’Meara’s stunning designed extension of the house that has large open spaces to draw the outside world in utilising natural elements like shou-sugi-ban prepared wood, light and of course a living outlook.

Sussan HQ

Vision
This fashion headquarters commissioned the Greenwall Company to design and install a greenwall as an extension to their minimalist interior design of the entry foyer.
How we helped
Liaising with Tract Consultants and Sussan, a unique planting plan was designed to compliment the internal colour scape of the building. Over the years the wall has been maintained to allow layered textures across the wall.
The result

Top Ryde Shopping Centre

Top Ryde Shopping Centre

Vision
Lendlease were looking for a natural solution to camouflage the otherwise bland, concrete heavy, carpark space directly above the main pedestrian entrance of the Top Ryde Shopping Centre.
How we helped
At the consultation the designers suggested a textural tapestry that would sit high above the ground level and be large enough in size to draw the pedestrian eye line from the catwalk at the shopping centre entrance skywards.
The planting plan was specifically designed to feature multiple textures whilst being low maintenance to take into consideration the location and to work in conjunction with the adjacent artwork.
The installation features 35 greenwall panels that were pre-grown at the greenhouse giving amenity from the moment they were installed.
The result
A luscious green entryway into the shopping centre that also provides habitat links for wildlife at the Ryde TAFE horticulture school and parkland located on nearby Park Street.

Global Change Institute

Global Change Institute

Vision
The UOQ’s Global Change Institute wanted to create a living building that would ultimately maintain itself and contribute to the restoration and regeneration of the environment.
How we helped
The Greenwall Company installed a 70m² panelled greenwall over the air-conditioning vents. This formed part of the air filtration system, allowing the greenwall to clean and purify the air, which facilitates the idea of a “living building”.
Over a 12-month period, a standard 2sqm panel will only require the equivalent of 3 days of average household water use to maintain the wall. Part of the nutrition and irrigation of the greenwall is also sourced from the fishpond and the greenwall runs as a vertical wetland in the lower section.
The result
Each greenwall was been installed in a way that will eventually allow them to be self-sustained within the building, needing only minimal maintenance. The design also truly embodies the university’s green ethos and ongoing commitment to sustainability in research and education.
